Who can give to the Trinity Foundation?
Anyone!
What kinds of gift can I give to the Trinity Foundation?
Cash contributions make up the majority of gifts that we have received thus far. However, creative giving is always encouraged and welcomed. Gifts can be given in the form of any of the following:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Gift Annuities
- Life Insurance
- Lifetime gifts
- Dividends
- Real Estate
- Personal Property
- Stocks
- Mutual Funds
- Retirement plan assets
- Memorials
- Cash Contributions
Where do the funds go?
Guidelines for distribution of Trinity Foundation Funds are as follows:
* 25% of each gift received shall be placed in a Trinity Foundation Endowment Fund
* 75% of each gift may be distributed at any time. Gifts received or income earned may be used to accomplish the following purposes:
* 25% for specific needs of Trinity Lutheran, such as church improvements or special projects other than regular budget items.
* 25% for Carrington area community improvements such as school, civic, park board, or Carrington Ministerial programs and the ministry of the Red Willow Bible Camp.
*25% for mission, seminary or other projects of the ELCA—Eastern North Dakota Synod and church-wide.
When can I give?
Gifts can be given at any time during the year. Trinity Foundation Sunday has traditionally been held in February as an annual fundraiser.
When do the funds get distributed?
The Foundation Board meets bimonthly and distributes funds according to most immediate and pressing need. If there are no pressing needs, the Foundation board may take no action and thereby keep the balance of the funds until such needs occur.
Why does the foundation exist?
Trinity Foundation was established to provide a means for receiving gifts to meet local and worldwide needs. The Foundation bylaws provide guidelines for the distribution of funds. A copy of the bylaws may be obtained at the church office.
Why should I consider a gift to the foundation?
As Christians, we have a need to respond to the free gift of God’s love and mercy. Your gifts to the Trinity Foundation can help fulfill that need and provide for the growth of the Christian ministry. Through Trinity Foundation, you can:
- Share Christian love and commitment
- Continue your Christian stewardship beyond your lifetime
- Remember loved ones in a lasting way
- Support Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND
- Support other Carrington area projects
- Give to Christian mission projects in the U.S. and around the world
How can I make a gift to the Trinity Foundation?
Cash contributions can be sent directly to the church, 100 Poplar Ave., Carrington, ND 58421.
Trinity Lutheran Church can also be named as a beneficiary of investments. Other questions about planned giving should be directed to any member of the Trinity Foundation Board.
